Feature Pergola Installation on the Bellarine PeninsulaNovember 20, 2020
We have just completed a feature pergola for a client of ours who lives on a beautiful property on the Bellarine Peninsula. Our client is rapt with his new pergola, he intends to add some climbing plants to the structure which we think will look stunning and provide him with a new shady area to enjoy.
To construct this feature pergola we used Rough Sawn Cypress Posts. Cypress is a great choice because it is naturally rot and termite resistant, making it a safer and more economical product. Cypress is most commonly used as fencing posts, gate posts and in the construction of pergolas and gazebos. Cypress posts are accessible in either a dressed finish, or a rough sawn finish.
If you have a pergola that cops the heat, it is a good idea to get shade the natural way with some climbers. Some great examples of climbers for your pergola that will help keep you cool and look stunning include Wisteria, Ornamental Grape, Hardenbergia or Star Jasmine.
Adding a feature pergola to your outdoor living space can transform your yard from a very hot and uninviting backyard slab to a cool and tranquil usable space. It’s a good idea if you are living in Geelong or the Surf Coast to get advice from Kardinia Landscape Constructions. We can help you with your pergola design option and assist in choosing the right materials that will match the style of your home.
